Medizone International, Inc. Research

The majority of Medizone's research is currently being conducted at its dedicated laboratory located at Innovation Park at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Medizone technicians and researchers are rapidly closing in on a potent, practical and economic response for this significant global problem. We believe that our ability to cost-effectively sterilize hospitals and other critical infrastructure will make the world a safer place.

Our current research is investigating new innovative equipment and protocols for use in destroying the main causative agents of hospital derived infections.

  • C difficile
  • E-coli
  • Pseudomonas aeruginous
  • MRSA
  • VRE

In addition to these pathogens, the same process will deal with viruses, mold and fungi.

Original Purpose of Medizone International, Inc.

images-1

Medizone International was originally organized to develop treatments for a family of viruses known as lipid enveloped. Diseases such as Hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, Herpes and Epstein Barr are included in this family of common viruses. While the company still believes there remains great promise in treating many human afflictions with properly administered 03 mixtures, we are currently pursuing a new initiative which has great promise in the area of hospital sterilization.

By redirecting the company into this area of global concern, management and our science team believe we can develop a revenue stream in the shortest period of time on the budget that is available to us. So Medizone International has returned to one of the first uses of ozone as practiced in the early nineteenth century, hospital sterilization.

Scope of HAI's

  • HAIs are one of the most common complications of hospital care.
  • Nearly 2 million patients develop HAIs, which contribute to 99,000 deaths each year and $28 billion to $33 billion in health care costs.
  • HAIs are caused by different types of bacteria that infect patients being treated in a hospital or health care setting for other conditions.
  • The most common HAI-causing bacteria is methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA.
  • The number of MRSA-associated hospital stays has more than tripled since 2000, reaching 368,600 in 2005, according to the Health and Human Service's  Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project.
